Pretty enough。 Not much original material， but would be a nice present for a super-fan。 The book is very front-loaded toward Bridgerton characters we've already met （or soon will， given some of the press material that's already been released for S2） on the Netflix adaptation - in Anthony， Colin， and Daphne's chapters there are also little sections about each of their spouses （Kate， Penelope， and Simon， respectively） and those chapters are somewhat longer in general whereas the chapters get short Pretty enough。 Not much original material， but would be a nice present for a super-fan。 The book is very front-loaded toward Bridgerton characters we've already met （or soon will， given some of the press material that's already been released for S2） on the Netflix adaptation - in Anthony， Colin， and Daphne's chapters there are also little sections about each of their spouses （Kate， Penelope， and Simon， respectively） and those chapters are somewhat longer in general whereas the chapters get shorter starting with Eloise （Benedict's is a bit longer， sandwiched between Anthony and Colin） and contain little specific information about the other five Bridgerton spouses （Sophie， Phillip （who we have actually met on the show）， Michael， Lucy， and Gareth）， just some mentions in passing， compared with the other three。 There's also a chapter at the end for Violet （but contains nothing from the lovely short story， Violet in Bloom） and one for Lady Danbury。 。。。more

This was such a cute collection for fans of the Bridgerton series， specifically for those who have read the books。 This is a beautifully bound addition， I love the cover and how pretty the formatting is on the inside。 The book is a fun compilation of snippets， quotes， wit， and wisdom from Lady Whistledown and about the beloved Bridgerton characters。 This volume shares favorite quotes from the Bridgerton books that best represent and illuminate each character， picked out by author Julia Quinn。 Ev This was such a cute collection for fans of the Bridgerton series， specifically for those who have read the books。 This is a beautifully bound addition， I love the cover and how pretty the formatting is on the inside。 The book is a fun compilation of snippets， quotes， wit， and wisdom from Lady Whistledown and about the beloved Bridgerton characters。 This volume shares favorite quotes from the Bridgerton books that best represent and illuminate each character， picked out by author Julia Quinn。 Every character featured also gets a brand new Lady Whistledown entry which was so fun and special to read！“A Bridgerton。 To be such is to know that you are part of a family tightly webbed with staunch loyalty and unquestioning love。 And laughter。 Always laughter。”The book is broken up by characters and those featured are Anthony， Kate， Benedict， Colin， Penelope， Daphne， Simon， Eloisa， Francesca， Gregory， Hyacinth， Violet， and Lady Danbury。 This felt like you were reading a collection of all the moments you would have annotated about the characters when reading the series， or in this case what JQ herself annotated about each character。 It shares sweet moments， swoony moments， the moments that pull at your heartstrings， the parts that made you cry， the moments that had you laughing， definitely a couple Mallet of Death moments， and just all the perfect moments that made you fall in love with these characters。 While all the quotes and passages are moments from the Bridgerton series， in the case of Colin’s section we do get a passage about him from First Comes Scandal （The Rokesbys series）。Thank you so much to the publisher， Avon Books， for my gifted copy of this beautiful book。 I adored reading it and remembering all my favorite Bridgerton moments。 I cannot wait to go place it on my bookshelves now with the rest of my JQ books。 。。。more

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review。 All opinions are my own。 The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton is an interesting book， and one I wasn’t sure about until actually reading it。 I mean， the books exist， so even if this is being published to cash in on the show’s popularity， why do so while adding very little that’s new？ But given the discussions around the problematic content in the books （especially The Duke and I） that has not aged well， I’ve foun I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review。 All opinions are my own。 The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton is an interesting book， and one I wasn’t sure about until actually reading it。 I mean， the books exist， so even if this is being published to cash in on the show’s popularity， why do so while adding very little that’s new？ But given the discussions around the problematic content in the books （especially The Duke and I） that has not aged well， I’ve found that this actually makes for a great book for someone who liked the show， but may be somewhat apprehensive about the books， due to concerns about the sensitive content。。 And for older fans， it’s a great compendium of both the humorous and insightful moments that center each of our favorite characters。 I love that it’s split into sections highlighting each family member， giving us an intro from Lady Whistledown’s POV， which doubles as a new excerpt from her column， in addition to what we’ve read in the books。 From Anthony being now remarked on as “boring” in his wedded bliss to a remark of Lady Bridgerton anticipating disaster when Hyacinth debuted， I loved these bonus snippets into their lives， in addition to a collection of their best moments across the eight books。 I also appreciated that Lady Danbury got her due， getting her own chapter alongside Violet and the Bridgerton siblings， and reminding me that she’s always been my favorite character。 I was a bit disappointed in a few areas however。 While the Violet chapter contains many moments in her life as a mother， I was dismayed that nothing from the criminally underrated Violet in Bloom made it in。 I mean， Colin’s got an excerpt from First Comes Scandal， so prequels and companion works are clearly fair game （I will admit that that moment is incredibly quotable， but that’s beside the point）。 And despite being based on the complete series， and many of the quotes for all the characters being very “spoiler-y” （in a matter of speaking）， I was a tad annoyed that the only significant others featured were the ones relevant to the show up to this point。 Simon was the hero of season one， so he’s in， and Penelope is another main character， so featuring her is also obvious。 And they’re obviously teasing season two with the inclusion of Kate。 But what about Sophie， Michael， Philip， etc。？ Philip also appeared in season one， although his character is connected to a character arc that has drawn a lot of concern about the direction they’re headed in， given their fate in the books， so perhaps that was at least partially the rationale behind his exclusion？ This is a fun compilation of both the heartwarming and hilarious moments across all the Bridgerton books。 Whether you’re a fan of the books or the show， or both， you’ll definitely enjoy this。 。。。more

I have a large number of books that need to be read before this one is published， but I couldn’t resist diving back into the world of the Bridgertons。 I loved the Netflix series and I read all the books in January （and have since reread Viscount Who Loved Me because it is my favorite） so I know my Bridgertons。 This book acts as a companion to the Bridgerton series providing a snapshot of each member of the Bridgerton family as well as a few of their spouses and close associates。 The characters c I have a large number of books that need to be read before this one is published， but I couldn’t resist diving back into the world of the Bridgertons。 I loved the Netflix series and I read all the books in January （and have since reread Viscount Who Loved Me because it is my favorite） so I know my Bridgertons。 This book acts as a companion to the Bridgerton series providing a snapshot of each member of the Bridgerton family as well as a few of their spouses and close associates。 The characters covered are Anthony， Kate， Benedict， Colin， Penelope， Daphne， Simon， Eloise， Francesca， Gregory， Hyacinth， Violet， and Lady Danbury。It should be made clear that this book is not for those who have not read the books。 That being said there are no big spoilers revealed in this book， but those who have not read the books will be missing a lot of context。 While this may be marketed as a character guide， it does not provide any summaries of the featured characters’ stories， rather it has a brief introduction via an entry from Lady Whistledown and then quotes pulled from the various Bridgerton books featuring the character。 I believe that the Lady Whistledown entries at the beginning of each chapter are new， but the quotes are pulled directly from the Bridgerton series （with a few edits changing some pronouns to names to improve context）。 There is no additional information provided about the character or any insights about writing the characters / series from Julia Quinn。 It really is a quote book。I personally really enjoyed the book。 It was a really quick read that I read in one sitting。 I enjoyed being back in the world of Bridgerton。 Several of the quotes chosen I remembered from when I read the books。 More than anything the book was a reminder of the great writing ability of Julia Quinn and the humor and heart found throughout the Bridgerton series。 When it is published I will have to look at a physical copy because I’m intrigued with how the passages will be presented。 The eBook proof I received had some varying shades of text as well as formatting markers that will make more sense when published。 Like I said， I really enjoyed this book， but I do wish that there would have been more new content （similar to the second epilogues）。Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more
